Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!

My name is Melody Davis and I am the principal of the District 29 Pre-K Centers.

​

I bring you fourteen successful years as an educator in multiple capacities that include being the Director of a New York City Early Education Center, a classroom teacher and an Instructional Coach with the Division of Early Childhood Education in Queens. Additionally, I have two years of experience as an Early Intervention Specialist. Your child will benefit from the knowledge that I have gained over the years.

Community School District 29 is a thriving community of schools and families that embraces the diversity of all by working together to ensure rich and nurturing learning environment ultimately leading to improved academic and social-emotional success. This begins with your child, our youngest learner. For the next few months, your child will be given the opportunity to engage in rigorous high quality standards based instructional activities. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that your child completes their Pre-kindergarten year with readiness skills that adequately prepares them to successfully begin kindergarten.

As you collaborate with us and trust us to continue to provide rigorous instruction in a supportive learning environment, as we hold your child to high expectations resulting in high levels of academic achievement for all students.

My watchwords as we begin this year are collaboration, community and commitment. Let me assure you that I have accepted this position with full responsibility and an excitement to serve you and your child.
